[Tutorial] Importing models from N64 Games into Maya
#1
This tutorial will show you how to import models from Nintendo 64 games into Maya. Before I begin I'd like to give partial credits to Zerox. In this tutorial, I will be using Pokemon Stadium 2 for this tutorial.

Requirements:
- Maya 2009 (other versions should work but the model exporter won't work on them)
- 1964 Emulator version 1.1 (newer versions do not like Lemmy's plugin)
.zip   1964 1_1.zip (Size: 3.29 MB / Downloads: 979)
- Lemmy's Ripping Video Plugin
.rar   LemD3D8.rar (Size: 215.24 KB / Downloads: 3,527)
- A Nintendo 64 ROM to rip a model from

Setting up 1964 and Lemmy's Plugin: (one time only)
1. Download 1964 and Lemmy's Ripping Video Plugin.
2. Extract 1964 to a folder of your choice. Extract the DLL file inside LemD3D8.rar into the plugin folder of 1964.

3. Click Plug-ins and then Change Plug-ins.
4. Change the System Default Video Plugin to Nemu64 Graphics (combine debug).
5. Click OK and then click Plug-ins and then Input Settings.
6. Change the settings to your liking, here are mine if you want:
7. Hit Close, now go into C: drive and create a folder named VRML. Make sure to spell it correctly, I made the mistake of misspelling it at first! That's it, now let's rip the actual models.

Ripping the models
1. Open up your ROM in 1964 via File > Open.
2. Find the scene where the model your want to rip appears on the screen and hit F3.
3. Click Plug-ins > Video Settings. Tick the Export VRML box and click OK. Press F3 again and as soon as you see a new frame of motion hit F3 again.
4. Alright, close 1964 because you don't need it anymore. Now go to the VRML folder you created in C: drive. There should be a whole of BMP files and 1 file named output.wrl. Create a folder and drag all the files in because if you rip a model again, it will overwrite the files.
5. In another window, go to your Maya's installation folder and go into the bin folder (C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2009\bin). Scroll down and find wrl2ma.exe.
6. Copy the file into the same folder where output.wrl is.
7. Open Command Prompt and type in: cd C:\VRML\folderyoumade and then hit Enter. Then type this hit Enter again: wrl2ma -i output.wrl -o model.ma
8. Now double-click on the model.ma file that should be in the folder that you made.
9. Uh-oh, looks like there's nothing here. No problem, let's zoom in and see what's there.
10. It seems that the world is the wrong way so let's change the camera view to Back.

11. Now zoom in and find the model you are looking for. (in this case, the Pikachu)
12. Delete any crap around the model like the square under the model and highlight it. (note that just clicking on it will not work and will just highlight one of the model's parts).
13. Copy the model and paste it into a New Scene. Once again, it seems there is nothing there. Zoom in and use the Scale Tool to resize the model.
The following may not happen but keep reading if it does:
13a. Now it seems the pivot point (the center of the model used for resizing, moving, etc) is off-center. This is not good. Hit Insert on your keyboard and move the pivot point into the center of the model. Then, hit Insert again.
14. Alright, now let's open Hypershade (Window > Rendering Editors > Hypershade). It seems we have a whole bunch of duplicate textures/materials which we do not want.
15. Click Edit > Select All by Type > Shading Groups and Materials. Now click Edit > Delete Duplicate Shading Networks. It might freeze for a few seconds, just wait.
16. Alright, now we're all done! (Not sure what happened to Pikachu's face, it's tessellating for some reason :p)
Optional - If you want to merge all the model parts together, select the whole model and click on Mesh > Combine.

would be also a lot easier if you attach the model instead of only an image
