General Help Thread
Hey guys. I'm trying to get this working but haven't had very good luck on any of my servers. Not sure if I'm missing something simple but here it goes.

I have removed all the * from the rotation. I have ensured that I have the latest build and the latest dll's.

I have the steam.dll in my server directory.

There are no plugins being used at this time.

It crashes as soon as I start the rotation with a memory exception (Cx00000005).

Log Paste: http://www.mysticpaste.com/private/9CqcZCbjFx/
Dump exception: http://img.paronity.com/FThI
Command Args: +set sv_config "server.cfg" +set dedicated 2 +start_map_rotate +set sv_maprotation default

I have tried this with every conceivable option as well as on my Window 7 and Server 2008 installs. They both fail exactly the same. Am I missing something?

Do you happen to be using the custom map rotation in sv_config.ini?
Otherwise I'd check and make sure the computer has .NET 3 and the Visual Studio 2008 redistributables installed.

edit: You want to change your command line to this:

+set sv_config "server.cfg" +set dedicated 2 +set sv_maprotation default +start_map_rotate

Thanks for the reply. Negative on all of that...

This is a server 2008 install which means .NET 3.0 is included when the server has a role of application server (which it does)[1].

Any other ideas that might get this running? I know the .NET is good as we are running BFB2CC, ProCon, and Paronicon (all .NET) from this box and it works just fine.

Edit: I also switched my command line args (didn't realize they were sequentially ran...) and I am not using the sv_config map rotation.

Silly question - does your server addon now shows kills, deaths etc.?

I know I've said this but I just want to eliminate all possible issues.
Make sure you have this set in your sv_config:
Code:
[SERVER]
OldRotation=0

It's hard to determine the exact reason of the crash although I would try disabling timed messages too and see if that does anything. Do you happen to be using the SpecsFix also?

If the problem can't be solved a rare fix would be to delete and redownload the addon and server core files (*.exe/*.dll).

Damn.

Still nothing. I really want to get this running. I have tried 2 different machines with fresh server files and neither of them go. Same thing on both. What could be the common factor?

Here is an upload of my config file (in both places)

Anything else you can think of?

Interestingly enough, I have SpecsFix enabled but I still get insufficient bandwidth from time to time. When I get this error, it never crashes. I suppose I would expect that to be normal since the server isn't starting up.

There are no messages being thrown to the Windows event log from any applications or any of the .NET frameworks.

I also just finished re-installing the server files from scratch and made sure they were up to date. Still same thing. Does anyone have this working on a Win7 or Server 2008 machine?
