All engines that you've never used are hard you dipshits, Also Nova, doesn't seem that you speak out of that much experience (regarding UDK).
Anybody here that has actually worked with UDK/CryEngine (and with worked I mean at least a month) ?

I knew someone would say that! Obviously, but CE3 differs in several ways, IMO the biggest difference in map making is that you don't place "brushes" as most engines do, but instead models.

Quake 1/Source SDK is still the easiest engine I have ever worked with and I can recommend it to EVERYONE who wants to start making maps.
Also simple games made in UDK? Paintball Island is made with UDK, you call that simple?
EDIT: And also again: if this is going to be made (and wasn't just a post, which it was, I know) and you use Source SDK I am willing to help. That is actually the only commercial engine you guys probably ever heard of that I know lots about.

Yep, agree with @ SuperNovaAO. I haven't worked more than a month with CE3 or UDK, but I know people who did it and they all say that Source is easier, because it is intuitive in mapping part. Just placing brushes, then applying some details to them, placing some static and physics models, some other entities, NPCs on level, making really fast simple script and you're done. And in other engines it is far more harder.
Also, what I wanted to say is that ofc it is the choice of @ Rendflex but look, the game is like protest against Activation, DLCs and how they never keep their promises. While doing this, we could also make a kind of thankyou for VALVe because they are real guys, releasing lots of useful stuff for free and betas (Source SDK itself is one of the examples). And if you will really start working on this project I would like to help as much as I can. And I think that we have to start working on it (by us I mean ItsMods) because
1.) Idea is amazing
2.) We really can
3.) I think it will be popular because of "script" and our community is well-known enough. The game by ItsMods will sound nice

IF it's a big project, don't use UDK, because unrealscript suck.
Also, IF the game is based on a big map / open world, don't use UDK.
Limit map of UDK = 10 km
Limit map of CE3 = 262 km
If you have knowledge in C++, you can use them with CryEngine, not with UDK.
When i said "simple games", i mean "corridors" games, or FPS with some little maps.
Personally I prefer an innovator game with a huge map, than a remake of CoD with different weapons.
But i agree, UDK is cool. It just depends on what type of game you want to make.
PS: People prefer big maps / open world, check the DayZ success !

The maps should differ per "badguy building", it could be a tall glass building in a modern urban city, it could be a small wooden estate/house in a Vietnamese jungle camp, or even a underground base in the desert.

I imagine the building like in the series 'The Walking Dead' in season 1 episode 5 and 6 (the epidermic control center). That would look awesome.

ArmA 2 is unlimited I think
Also yes, the Source Engine is very limited in map size but loading times of a map are very short and you can take a "modern officebuilding" and just load every floor seperately.
Also if you make it with CE3 you will hardly find any players because I think 99% of the people that ever played a FPS do own one Source Engine game which gives you access to play all mods based on the Source Engine whereas hardly anyone (compared to all FPS players) own a CE3 game.
So licensing is easier with the Source Engine.
