[Tutorial] PC under $1000
#1
Ok, so this is a PC setup that i'm going for, it's under 1000 Australian dollars (just do the conversion on a money exchange website).

This setup is just over $800

NZXT Havik 140 CPU Cooler $79

Corsair Hydro Series H100 CPU Cooler $159 (WATER COOLED)

Seagate Barracuda 1TB ST1000DM003 $105

G.Skill Ares F3-1600C9Q-16GAO 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 $115

ASRock H77-PRO4-MVP Motherboard $105

Intel Core i3 2100 $119

Inno3D GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB $125

Now, for a better computer, roughly $1500 swap for these

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 580 Twin Frozr II Overclocked $485

Or this one

Gainward GeForce GTX 570 1280MB Dual Fan $289

CPU: Intel Core i5 2320 $189

The computer at the top of this post is already half built for me, all i need now is the graphics card, which i changed to a HD6970 at $699, i'll have it after 5 weeks of saving up.

If there is any other components your looking for, tell me roughly how powerful you want your PC, and i'll get a setup in your budget.

for a 1000 euros you can buy this in portugal:

CASE - Zalman Z11 Plus - 62,90

HDD - Western Digital 1TB SATA 6Gb/s - 99,90

POWER - Corsair TX-750W V2 - 105,90

RAM - Corsair DDR3 Vengeance R PC3-1600 (2 X 4 GB) X 2 - 49,90 X 2

BOARD - Asus P8Z68-V GEN3 - 165,00

CPU - Intel Core i7 3770 - 285,00

GPU - MSI GTX 570 TwinFrozr III 1280MB GDDR5 - 295,00

DRIVE - ASUS DVD-RW 24x DL Preto Bulk - 20

TOTAL = 1133,5

1 Australian Dollar is about 75 euro cents.

So 800 Australian Dollars are actuall just a bit more than 600 Euros

My screen is even more expensive than that Big Grin

Yes, my Samsung 3D TV.

Well, the retail price was 650 - 750 euro last year. Nowadays shady webshops in the Netherlands sell it for 500 and I paid about 550 EUR for it via some shady Korean website.

Yes, all these are compatible, the motherboard has a LG1155 socket, which is i3 and i5 all you need is a suitable case, cannot be an ATX midwin case or smaller, as the parts wont fit, the i3 is actually very good for gaming, its got a reasonable amount of threads, and can be safely overclocked by 30%, which will make it very good for video editing and power hungry games/applications.

That built pc., with no case, is $807 AUD. In euros, it is 629.25

OC'ing a processor is easy, if you know a shit load about your bios though. BUT, in all honesty, it takes a good 30mins to safely OC a processor to its max, if you go WAY over your max, by more than 10MGhz, you can seriously fry it in under 1 minute, unless you have water cooling, but then again, it won't last very long, the best way to over clock, is study your version of bios, then over clock by 1MGhz at a time for example go from 3.2 - 3.3 then after 5 times and still working properly, go up in smaller increments, so go from 3.7 - 3.75 etc etc, try not to go more than 1/3 or your processor starting power, as you might fry it. i have over clocked my PC previously, along with my GPU, i got double the power from my gpu and just over 1/3 from my CPU, went from 2.8 - 3.4GHz, and my GPU was a HD6670, so from roughly 750mghz - 1250mghz.

anything else you want explained?
