How to fix your mini-map in Modern Warfare 2
#1
Before I begin this tutorial, YES, I did try to find a thread with this already posted with no success. Apologies if this has already been created.
Okay, so many people complain to me about them losing their mini-maps after
joining one of my modified lobbies.
The solution is extremely simple.
Step-tutorial:
1. Start your steam.
2. Right click Modern Warfare 2 > Properties.
3. Click the 'local files' tab then click "verify integrity of game cache".
4. Wait for it to complete. You should get an error when it is complete saying
something like "a file is missing/corrupt".
5. If this happens (99.9% of the time) click "verify integrity of game cache" again and this time it will work perfectly.
6. If you don't get that error message click "verify integrity of game cache" anyway just to be sure.

There you go, all fixed!

But why does this happen in the first place?
Mods such as unlimited uav (and many more) break the game code for the mini-map.
By pressing "verify integrity of game cache" it refreshes all files how they should be without losing any of your statistics, achievements or anything to alter your game.

So yeah, have fun fixing your mini-maps.

Er if minimap is missing just delete config_mp.cfg or be a pro and find the edited dvar which I forgot.
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.

I did this for people who have no idea on navigating around directories.
I mean, the amount of time I have spent talking to people where I go "Okay,
go to your mw2 directory" to have them reply "Okay...where is that.."
