I have not googled it but it sounds like a corrupt/unsigned driver that somehow made it through the usermode installer and then the kernel mode installer saw that it is in fact not allowed to install this and crashed.
And as everyone knows: an uncaught exception in the kernel crashes every big OS (UNIX/Windows).

No idea, then I moved to pc with windows 7 and everything went fine ..
