True, but do you think they would just lie like that? They still have some reputation
avatar
I may or may not be wearing a tinfoil hat right now, but I'm just saying. Nothing but pcdev's word points towards modtools existing.
avatar
I don't know who that guy is so I'm not taking his word as credible. Besides, 99% chance his friends were bullshitting him too unless he can provide us screenshots
avatar
The only person whom I've heard anything about modtools existing from is diduknowipwn or whoever it was saying that he "knows two people who got access"
avatar
They made a hasty twitter update in the last minute of the last day of March
avatar
Maybe they didn't actually release any mod tool alphas
avatar
avatar
Yeah what's up with that? I heard that game suddenly got fkn microtransactions?! In a $60 game (which is already a full game conversion dlc for mw1)
avatar
with mod tools there will be mods that just unlock all weapons so no one would buy supply drops anymore
avatar
and they want people to buy these shitty supply drops
avatar
Probably because they want to sell dlc first lol
avatar
Otherwise I don't see a reason why it wouldn't be an open beta
avatar
(watermarked versions so if it leaks they can immediately sue you)
avatar
So they give 50 people they know access, after letting them sign a nda.
avatar
Exactly. Releasing them all would even uncover bugs earlier I guess. Possible reason: mod tools are so fubar right now that they actually partially contain the source code for example
avatar
Not like they're gonna lose sales if their tools suck
avatar
Even with an open release
avatar
But that's dumb, they might as well just update it later
avatar
From the sounds of it (what I've heard here), they want their mapping tools tested through first
avatar
(tbh: why isn't it an open beta?)
