And the thing about ww2, how the hell can you make a fast paced ww2 game? weapons were mostly all bolt action rifles. A fast paced game would be a Thompson vs MP40 vs Sten vs PPSH vs Greasegun festival
avatar
Not much though, as @SuperNovaAO said, they are moving towards cod style a lot by judging what I see on youtube gameplays
avatar
BF allows more sort of stuff
avatar
and CoD will keep losings its share if they keep like always
avatar
Its really clear what people prefer by judging the changes in marketshare
avatar
Some years ago they dominated the FPS market, since Ghosts they have lost the market to BF
avatar
@AZUMIKKEL what you said is exactly what I meant. Every year they obtain bigger sales than with the years before title, but thats because the market is increasing in size at an enormous speed
avatar
tbh: BF also went more and more CoD like over the last years. I really disliked the Hardline beta because of this map design.
avatar
Even if we went back to ww2 it would still be faster than cod2/codWaW because that's just what people want
avatar
But they don't, and because of it the franchise won't change
avatar
If they enjoyed that they would go play Red Orchestra
avatar
It's the evolution of the franchise, fast paced run and gun is what people want. Most people don't want to find cover and play slow
avatar
If they go back to WW2, nothing is going to change
avatar
That's got nothing to do with futurism
avatar
They release periodical planned DLC with more shit maps, to keep players interested until the next game, and to maximize profits without doing any real work
avatar
They make shit map designs so that shitty casual players can get lucky kills, so it's not just the small fraction of good players that will keep buying their games
avatar
But they don't give a shit about professional or strategic play anymore
avatar
As you make it sound, they were good because the company making them gave a shit about map design, about doing the best for the community
