Also forget the Adobe P. Pro, it is too complex, I have tryied out the demo version now, after 5 min I deleted it 
Try out AVS Video Editor 6.0 it is better in my opinion.
Also for YT you need to set the rendered vid fps to 25 as I know.
I've done all my videos with APP so far. Worked fine. Just selected the wrong profile (It's so hard to click on YouTube Widescreen HD).

But the YT WD HD function is only 720p in APP. Look at the video on yt, only 720 again
For example, I have recorded that in 720 some days ago. Now used AVS VE to render it to 1080 and now it can be viewed at 1080.
i just use x264 to compress my video in virtualdub, then i compress the audio too separately and thats it

True that it is only 720p but personally I don't care about 720p or 1080p on some shitty YT video. Also your approach is even worse: record at 720p and upscale to 1080p so people can watch it in 1080p. WTF?
I record in 1080p and downscale it so I can upload it faster and be done with it.
