As it turns out, bonemind and yurio's plugins work fine still. Not sure what problem we were having on day one, but the server has been up and stable for several days now.
Full control, and maps change easily while maintaining a random choice from a weighted list of game types if we leave it be.

I have not used the god plugin, because Yurios map changer suits us better.
We have times when we want to change map/type when the server is quiet. The rest of the time we want it to be random, but based on a weighting we supply.
We want simplicity, so if an admin changes the map/type it will then revert back to the random list afterwards.
We can warn, tmpban, ban, yell etc. We can have full admins and half-admins who cannot ban. We have welcome messages, rules, rcon control, ping displays, etc.
And it's stable. So it gets my vote
