It is modifying the game, but it's not modding call of duty as we know it. If we start calling it mods people will only get more confused to why we can't just add anything we could add in blops to mw3.

therefore it's better to just call them plugins.

Also @zxz0O0, it's still stupid because your plugins is called promod plugin (double). And Promod is a fucking name of a fucking competitive mod, it's not a fucking mod genre. Your plugin should be called competitive mod(plugin) or something original like, for example, xkmod.
okay lets say modding is related to different point of sights.

I could call my plugin promod modification mod plugin mod plugin modpro and it would still be a mod.

umad? Troll
Not entirely sure how you can label those..I think is really depends on the game itself.

In my personal opinion a plugin would be something you do or use to add support for something else. Something a game or tool does not natively support, example would be boneminds "Ingame RCON tool", since he is not actually changing the game that would be a plugin(IMO), however Nukems addition with adding the old style COD4 mapcylce would be a mod, as he is taking something the game already has and changing how it works.

There for he is modifying it, in theory.

On a side note I would consider a mod something that drastically changes game play, such a the promod plugin. That literally changes all aspects of game play including health and look/feel of the game. While a plugin(ingame Rcon tool) just allows us to admin our servers easier.
As a new-comer, and having helped a few other server admins to setup their server...

It makes sense that the addon has plugins. The plugins work with the addon, not on their own.

I try to avoid the word "mod" as the above terms keep it simple.

Side note: Promod is an existing term/name - so it seems to me that any new item created for MW3 should NOT be called the same. Seems like a no-brainer to me, but hey you are the music makers Wink
@ ALL

Simple explanation.
