im going to be pc gaming a lot after i get all the parts but i have been thinking the i5 and i7 processors seem so equal in both ways and i don't really see the point of getting a more expensive product when the other one seems perfectly fine, or are there major differences i am not aware of.

a response to this would great because i kind of want to stay in a little bit of a budget
yes there are hugh differences

i5 < i7
4cores/4threads < 4cores/8threads
< 100mhz faster
< Hyperthreading

2 cores 4 threads?!
i5 2500k or i7 2600k <- thread title

you run a mobile version, also 4 cores/8threads, different clock speed, lower cache
Nobody needs 8 Threads and I overclocked my i5 2500k to 4.6 GHz so your argument about 100MHz faster is invalid.

But if you are rich then buy i7 2600k.
then try to get your i5 2500k to 5ghz. this is much easier with an i7 2600k
the threads are usefull, always depends on what you are doing on your PC
i7 ofc
Video rendering? i7
Anything else i5
ok i guess ill just go with the more cost effective i5 because it seems i'm going to get more bang for my buck
Is there anybody else left beside me who use centrino duos?
