Internets
#1
We had a discussion about internets in different countries in the SB.

In some parts of Germany this is reality, so don't complain about your slow speeds.

You need to be able to speak a bit German for this:

tl;don't speak German: They changed something in the law a few years ago which gives the German equivalent of the FBI the permission to assume that every inhabitant is a terrorist and therefore they may do anything to you as if you are a criminal.

yes well that was true but the highest court smashed it, they are not anymore allowed to store your data for 6 months, its a little bit harder for them to get the permission and ISPs are not forced to store your data anymore.
but there are still rumours that they want to change it again to get control over the people again due to trollolo "anti terror law enforcement"

suddenly i am kinda glad that we catched on this discussion and for everybody out there that is interested in free speech and your right to decide what YOU want to do then use TOR (using it for several years already, get it from privoxy or directly from the tor site) and setup your client as a relay to keep the internet clean from the government.

but here is a very good example how the internet changed while ago

Woh pretty interesting stuff @d0h!
Saw them both, (well not entirely, but for 50%) and pretty interesting stuff, really didn't knew about that (except for the Chinese one, already know alot about that one)
also does TOR really work? I heard the dutch police raided a TOR childporn server and shut it down
(which is really good ofc, but it proofs that TOR isn't completely waterproof)

its a big difference if you use your server/home network as a tor node or if you use a server as a child porn server and run a tor node either. that example has nothing to do with tor, they just run a tor node on it.

and you should watch it completely, else you missed a lot of interesting stuff

Here in Holland it's not 6 months but I have to save all data I can get from the visitors here for 3 months. Then I may remove it.

Just in case that one of you is a cybercriminal that somehow relates to me I have to prove with the data that it has nothing to do with me personally :/

US is even worse. GMail and Hotmail save your mails for at least 15 years I think and you cannot even delete your account. Just close it which does not remove any data (you can't even remove a Facebook account Troll )
