Ok,

So I flashed my phone to Deck's CM9 rom that just came out on 7-3.

Went in with QPST and configured the radio, got text, voice, and mms all working for
a different carrier (was EVO 4g on Sprint) is now EVO 4g on Cricket.

Problem: I have 3G data icon, phone says its connected to mobile network and
DNS is resolving names but I can't load any page or get anything data to work.

Any ideas?

I'm writing this because this section is dying and I think it's just a cool find
This tutorial will explain you how to run linux commands from your computer.
This is simply awesome cause you got a full linux terminal at your disposal. (with root access)
Your phone needs to be rooted in able to do this
There are several other ways to do it without a rooted phone, but i'm lazy and i'm not gonna look it up.

You're gonna download terminal IDE here

When you installed it, press the 'install system' button and install the system

When it's done click on terminal IDE

Now connect your usb cable

Copy paste this and save it as installsshd.sh at your sdcard (not external)

Code:

cd ~
mkdir .ssh
chmod 700 .ssh
cd .ssh
dropbearkey -t dss -f dropbear_dss_host_key
dropbearkey -t rsa -f dropbear_rsa_host_key
echo SSH installed
cd ~

Copy paste this and save it as sshd.sh at your sdcard (not external)

Code:

echo ---------------------------------
echo Starting SSH server
echo ---------------------------------
dropbear -A -N root -U 10058 -G 10058 -C pwd -d ~/.ssh/dropbear_dss_host_key -r ~/.ssh/dropbear_rsa_host_key -F -E -p 8090 -P PidFile

NOTE that pwd needs to be changed in any password you want

Now dismount your usb.

Type 'bash sdcard/installsshd.sh'

If it didn't give any errors, the ssh keys are created. This only needs to be done once.

Now everytime you wanna start your SSH, follow the following steps

Type 'su' in the terminal

Allow terminal IDE access

Type 'bash sdcard/sshd.sh'

Download a simple client such as PuTTY

Look up the IP of your phone (can be found in wifi settings > menu key > advanced)

Select SSH

Enter as port: 8090

Press connect

Enter as login 'root'

Enter the password you provided, if you didn't provide one, it probably is 'pwd'

Congrats, you now have a full linux terminal at your disposal which can run basic linux commands.

I'm going to post this here.

So yesterday I flashed my galaxy s (GT-I9000) to a ICS ROM and it went all fine, but it had a standby bug which caused it to completely shutdown every time I turned the phone into standby
Also, External SD card and SIM (it didnt connect to any mobile networks anymore) didn't work anymore.
So I was like okay, ICS is nice, but it's to buggy right now, so i'll flash it to cm7 (cyanogen)
But when I booted it with CM7, the External SD & SIM were still broken :\
So I got no idea what to do now...
