I'm showing horror films at school at Saturday nights to a group of 70-80 people. This will be the fourth week and I'm having trouble finding new good horror films.
So far we watched:
1. The Exorcist (I thought starting with a classic would be nice but they laughed at every scary scene. It wasn't a scary film tbh.)
2. Shutter(Thai Version) (They liked this one and screamed a lot.)
3. Grave Encounters (This created suspense but didn't scare them as much as shutter, almost half of them told me they got bored and didn't like the film.)

This week I'm planning to show Chakusin Ari(One missed call)

I'm watching a horror film daily to find good, scary films to show.

Please post below your suggestions.

P.S.: They tend to laugh at old effects. Therefore please don't post movies older than 1999.
Best horror:
1. @4FunPlayin
2. @Ivankec
3. @number1
The Day of the Triffids , Troll I am sure you will love it, LOL
4Fun is 3 because he was dead and then he was alive.

Now in a serious manner:
The Ring
The Ring 2
- Most've probably seen both. If not, watch them. If not for the scares, for the story at least.
Insidious
The Troll Hunter
- Not that scary, but still pretty interesting Swedish movie.
Dale and Tucker vs. Evil - Not scary either, but hilarious as fuck.
[REC]
The Host
- Not too scary either, but it has it's moments. Great movie.
The Butterfly Effect - Not sure if classified as horror movie, but the first of this series is awesome and actually got me on my nerves.
Dead Snow - Pretty good norwegian zombie movie.

Don't watch Piranha 3D. Shittiest hollywood cliche waste of time. It has nothing that an Asian alternate hardcore porn video doesn't.
Also, don't bother with Final Destination movies. They are not scary, and the plot is the exact same through all the movies. Person gets a flash of the future, oh noes that's scary, freak out, people die, person and friends don't die, they die in order for the rest of the movie, everybody dies.

Slither: Biggest WTF horror movie I ever saw.
House of Wax
The Grudge: Pretty long, but scary nonetheless.
Poltergeist
Dead Silence
Disturbia: Categorized as horror, but I find it more interesting and entertaining than scary.
Just play through Amnesia, pretty cheap entertainment ja?

He asked for movies though. If games count, then try out the Penumbra series too.
[REC], but the original. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1038988/

Original Bloody Valentine (well, yes, it's older than 1999...) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082782/ or remake: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1179891/

Human Centipede (2), oh no wait, I laughed the entire movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1467304/
Also,
Quote:People that liked Shutter (2004) also liked:
Drag Me To Hell (imo it was mediocre and I laughed, but well, some software says it's related to Shutter Thai version) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1127180/
The Unborn http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1139668/
Pulse http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0454919/
The Grudge http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0391198/
Ringu (original The Ring) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0178868/

Also take a look at Flatliners (a bit of a horror movie)
The Thing (1982 version) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084787/
Planet Terror http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1077258/
Paranormal Activity 1 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1179904/ . 2 was not entirely bad but 3 was just a waste of time.
